Farm Policy & FAQ

By entering our farm, you agree to our farm policies:

  • We accept cash or card.

  • Due to the nature of our seasonal business, all sales are final. We cannot issue refunds for Christmas trees, attraction tickets, or any other items. Tickets are for use at the attractions only and may not be used toward the purchase of any other items. Attraction tickets do not expire – you may bring them back and use them any time attractions are available during normal business hours!

  • No reservations required during Blackberry season or Christmas season!

  • There is no additional charge for parking. Please lock your vehicle and never leave valuables in plain sight. If your vehicle is blocking traffic or blocking another vehicle, you are subject to be towed at your expense.

  • We are open rain or shine. Exceptions may be made during extreme weather conditions. Stay tuned to our social media for weather updates.

  • All minor children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children are required to ride with an adult on the Train Ride and wagon.

  • We take great pride in the care of our farm, so please utilize the available trash receptacles around the area! No streamers or confetti are allowed in.

Leashed pets are always welcome on our farm, with the exception of the blackberry rows (for sanitary reasons).

Well-behaved pets can ride with you on the train and wagon. Pets are not allowed inside the petting zoo or inflatables.

  • There is no photography fee for 2026. Photographers are welcome to bring their clients to the farm during public business hours. You may bring in props that are small enough to carry. By entering our farm, photographers and clients agree to our farm policies listed on this page.

  • Please be aware that by entering the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm, your photograph or footage of you may be taken and we may use this photograph/ footage in any and all media without any form of compensation to you.

We love to re-post customer photos! Please tag us using our Facebook or Instagram handle (@elginchristmas) or use #elginchristmastreefarm for a chance to be featured on our website or social media.

  • Strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs are welcome (although it may be a little bumpy at times!).

Our bathrooms and wagons are stroller/wheelchair accessible.

Pedestrians must make way for the wagon and train ride to pass. Always watch for moving vehicles.

We are a real working farm with grassy and gravel uneven surfaces.

  • Beware of ants, uneven ground, moving vehicles, sharp saw blades, splinters, and other environmental hazards in our farm environment. Please do not play with saws, measuring sticks, or bamboo tree stakes. Please obey all posted signs. We are not responsible for any injuries sustained or lost, stolen, or damaged items.

  • We’re especially excited for the 2026 season because our Christmas tree fields are looking better than ever! We’ve spent the past several years working hard to bring the trees back into great shape, and we expect to have an awesome and plentiful selection available this year.

Be sure to check our Prices page or social media before your visit for the latest updates on availability and selection, as some size options can become more limited later in the season.

  • We are not responsible for securing your tree to your vehicle or for any damage to your vehicle caused by loading merchandise. Please make sure all items are secure before leaving the premises.

  • Please follow all of the instructions on the Tree Care sheet attached to your receipt. These tips are extremely important to the longevity of your fresh tree. We are not responsible for trees after they are taken off the premises.

  • We are unable to install tree stands on site (including tree stands purchased from us). This is because we recommend that everyone make a fresh cut on their tree upon arriving home, no matter how far you live from us. See our tree care page for more info. We do not offer tree drilling.

  • Sorry, we do not offer tree flocking (a method of spraying fibers on the tree to create a snowy look).

  • Pesticides: Our trees and blackberry plants are only sprayed when absolutely necessary and always in compliance with state regulations. Any applications are carefully timed so residues are expected to be gone well before harvest or picking periods.

Glyphosate: We use glyphosate for weed control around the farm, but never directly on the blackberry plants or Christmas trees.

Christmas Tree Colorant: Before the selling season begins, the trees are sprayed with a natural colorant called "SuperGreenzit", a standard practice in the Christmas tree industry. We do this because although the trees are evergreen, in the wintertime shorter days and less daylight makes the trees a more yellow-green color rather than a deep blue-green. The spray, similar to food coloring, helps bring back that blue-green color that they display more in the summertime. It is safe for humans and pets. It should not wear off or deposit any color on clothing or decor.

  • For safety reasons, no power saws are allowed in. A hand saw is provided for cutting your own Christmas tree.

  • Although we are in a large outdoor setting, please refrain from smoking on our property for the comfort and safety of our guests. Dry grass and hay bales are abundant on the farm and are extremely flammable.

No alcohol is allowed on the premises.

  • We offer 10% off Christmas Trees for military and first responders (valid ID required). We thank you for your service!

  • WARNING: Under Texas Law (Chapter 75A, Civil practice and remedies code), an agritourism entity is not liable for any injury to or death of an agritourism participant resulting from an agritourism activity.
